BDO Shadow Arena Class Skills (Black Desert Online)

This guide will show screenshots and details on all of the class skills available in Shadow Arena. Skills are acquired by destroying and looting chests.

The class you choose will come into Shadow Arena with their basic set of skills, like left click, a special attack, and other basic skills specific to that class. (Some classes do not have basic block (Q), or RMB skills.)

Shadow Arena Class Skill Lobby Text

I have copied the text that is visible about class skills once you have entered into the Shadow Arena lobby. The top right window gives some info and hints. I included the hints about class skills that pop up in Practice matches as well. Did I get them all?

BASIC GUIDE:

• Monsters have a higher chance to drop gear, and chests have a higher chance to drop Skill Books.
• Skill Books will automatically add a skill to the quick slot bar in the right-hand corner of the screen. Collecting a skill book from an already owned skill will reset its cooldown.
• You can change the order of items and skills by dragging them with the mouse.

HOTKEYS:

Skill Combos

Skill combos allow you to press [Space] + [LMB] to perform a skill combo of 6 to 7 combat skills in a predetermined order.

• Only skills that you pick up become part of a skill combo.
• If you haven’t picked up any Skill Books, you will just do a basic attack
• Each skill combo will be activated not only during basic attack but while performing certain Skill Book skills. Details below.

Shadow Arena Classes & Skills

You can view all the Skill Descriptions of your class skills in Shadow Arena when you press the ALT key. Skills are randomly obtained when you smash chests and loot a Skill Book. Try to obtain a few good skills, with at least one CC, before running head first into PVP. 🙂

Some classes are given some nice starting Skills. For example, Valkyrie and Warrior get their Block (Q) skill. Berserkers get a Stiffen (F) Skill, etc. Kuno and Mystic start with Movement Speed buffs that stack with the Elixir of Swiftness. Dark Knight, Tamer, Sorceress, Valkyrie, Mystic, Warrior, Musa, and Kuno can pick up at least 1 Skill Book that causes them to run faster than norml. If I have time, I will list the class basic attacks as well. So far, the Shadow Arena skills below are just the ones you can pick up.

There are rumors that some Skills are more rare than others. I’m not sure how true this is, or if it’s all just good/bad luck, trying to get the Skill you want. Have fun gambling, erm, I mean playing Shadow Arena!

All classes instantly receive their full skill set in a Practice Match.

Berserker Skills

Berserker is probably one of the strongerst classes at the start of Shadow Arena. His basic F stomp (Storming Beast) will stiffen your opponent. Their A,D + LMB (Shake Off) into RMB (Fierce Strike) does good damage at the start and his high damage continues until the end.

Valkyrie Skills

Valkyrie is a strong choice in Shadow Arena and is frequently sought out. She is one of the classes that come with Block as a default skill (Q).

Warrior Skills

Warrior is a strong choice in Shadow Arena and is frequently sought out. He is one of the classes that come with Block as a default skill (Q).

Mystic Skills

Mystic is a super fast class and hard to pin down. Flash Step gives her a 20% run boost for 10 seconds and the cooldown is 6 seonds. Good thing it costs 150 Stamina to use, or we’d all be in trouble! Many of her skills have some form of CC. Be careful with this one.

Striker Skills

Like the Mystic, the Striker gets a super fast Speed skill by the same name. Flash Step gives him a 30% run boost for 10 seconds and the cooldown is 6 seonds. It costs 150 Stamina to use. The Striker has a strong set of many skills. Three of his skills have Forward Guard plus a CC. Wow, watch out for this one. Oddly, I had trouble finding this class in the Practice matches. Usually took me around 20 minutes running around trying to find him. Striker may be more rare than other classes.

Wizard/Witch Skills

Wizard and Witch are known for their nuke from a distance play style! How about a little CC from a distance? That should be good. They have some heavy hitting skills, but these same skills have a long casting time. Sage’s Memory helps somewhat with that, but its cooldown is 3.5 minutes.

Best used in party play.

Dark Knight

Dark Knight is certainly one to be reckoned with. She can learn a stun skill (Hidden Strike) that has a 3 second cooldown, as well as a skill that increases run speed for those super scary situations… Her Nocturne skill has Superarmor, Forward Guard, and Invincible! Think I’ll be using that one next time. 🙂

Maehwa

Maehwa is provided the skill Chase, which gives a short forward or backward run speed buff with a 3 second cooldown and Invincibility. Blooming should help as well with its Invincibility and Stun capability.

Musa

Musa has the same skills as Maehwa, except for two. No Forward Guard on Hotkey 3, but it still does a Float CC.

Tamer

Tamer has a short duration sprint skill called Legendary Beast’s Power that can be used every 1.5 seconds. She also has quite a few CC skills and 1 Forward Guard.

Sorceress

Sorceress has a skill that can be learned called Night Crow, which increases run speed by 10% for 10 seconds. She also has a couple Knockdown skills and one that utilizes Forward Guard.

Kunoichi

Kunoichi can learn a skill called Ninjutsu Concealment, which allows her to become invisible for up to 15 seconds, as long as she doesn’t attack. She has quite a few skills that have some form of CC, but lacks ones for Super Armor or Forward Guard.

Ninja

Like the Kunoichi, Ninjas can learn a skill called Ninjutsu Concealment, which allows him to become invisible for up to 15 seconds, as long as he doesn’t attack. He has quite an arsenal of CC skills, but his only Superarmor skill has a 20 second Cooldown and he has no Forward Guard.

Best Class Rankings

Interested in current Shadow Arena class rankings? I frequently hear that the two classes with shields do well. Both Warrior and Valkyrie have access to Block (Q).

View Shadow Arena monthly rankings, by clicking the Rankings button in the Lobby. (This has been extemely laggy for me. Just be patient with it and it will sometimes load.) Ranks are reset every month.

Our first SA ranking reset is scheduled for March 27th maintenance.

Patch Notes 3-20-19: “Please note that the reset schedule of rankings may change depending on the status of Shadow Arena. Resetting of the rankings will be announced beforehand via official channels.”
