BDO Crossroad Quest Line I: Lamenting Head of the League of Merchants (Black Desert Online)

Black Desert Online introduced new Crossroad Quests in a patch on 12 December 2018.

Players now must choose one of three story lines for each character.

Crossroad Quests give us the ability to experience BDO in new ways. Each Crossroad quest has a unique story and takes you through different monster zones.

BDO Crossroad Quest Choices:

Inventory: same Inventory slots (Total Black Spirit’s Gift Inventory: 23)
Knowledge: each Crossroad Quest gives an opportunity to get different Knowledge topics.
Items: same basic beginner gear (Basteer weapons, AP accessories, etc)
Start NPC: Progress through the main story (O key then Main tab.) and you will encounter the quest, Paying Off Debts, to take money to Bobby Lauren in Heidel. After turning this in, you will have a window appear where you must select a Crossroad quest line.
No Going Back: once you make a choice, you can’t change your mind. If you want to experience a different Crossroad quest, you must do so on an Alt.

Crossroad quest line I is a mixture for those wanting a balance between questing and combat. It is the middle road, having a few Repeatable combat quests, but also plenty of story quests and goodies to go along with them. 🙂

① The first path starts with the quest [Crossroad] The Lamenting Head of the League of Merchants. This path follows the same story as the pervious main quests. It follows Jordine and his ambitions to take revenge against Calpheon.

[Crossroad] Quest Window Description:

You can watch cutscenes (videos) related to the main quest. It involves the stories about the Shadow Knights, Belmorn, and Jordine’s plan to take revenge on Calpheon.

The situation has worsened for the League of Merchants since Jordine Ducas ascended to regency. I don,t know what he’s up to, but he’s saving up funds. Do you have any idea how ruthless his methods are? He’s forcing the League of Merchants to buy bonds and suffer from debt due to high interest. We’re up against the wall. And it appears that the Republic has allowed the Encarotia Family, the nobles of Calpheon, to have the Xian Merchant Guild establish a trading branch in Heidel. I can’t bring myself to see Isobelle Encarotia, the Branch Manager. I get nervous just hearing her voice. Please, can you explain our situation to her for me? – BobbyLauren –

This quest line will open up a nice repeatable Contribution quest for beginning players. Each time it’s completed, you earn 150 Contribution Exp and 100 Combat Exp. It requires 95 Nagas. You can repeat it as long as you don’t complete the quest called “The Story of Glish“.

Which Crossroad Quest is the Best?

What’s more fun to you? Questing or combat?

Quest Lovers
Crossroad III quest line offers a huge amount of quests with more loot. It has 7 more Skill Points than the second largest and a handful more Armor Stones. But the quest count is almost twice as many. Many of the quests are optional, offering gold bars and other money making goodies.

Crossroad III gives no opportunity for the repeatable kill x many for Contribution quests. With its high quest count, make sure you love questing before you choose this quest line! 🙂

Combat Lovers
Crossroad II quest line is perfect for those just wanting a quick run through without allot of quests getting in the way. I think it caters for those more interested in hunting mobs. In fact, each section has at least one [Repeat] quest you can do for more combat fun that will reward you with 150 Contribution Exp each.

Mixed Bag
Crossroad I quest line is a sort of middle ground. Having about half as many quests as the quest lovers line, but also throwing in a few repeatable combat quests here and there.
