- Answers for the riddle part of [Crow’s Nest] The Riddle of Chiro and Toro
- The Papu have more barters

- Defeat 5 bosses. Details below
Crow’s Nest Quest Line Bosses
In order to complete the [Crow’s Nest] quest line, you will have to defeat 5 bosses during the quest below.
[Crow’s Nest] Do Your Best
- You cannot complete this quest while in a party.
- If you are defeated by the Crow’s Warriors, return to Chorpy <Pit of the Undying Keeper>, to receive another summoning scroll.
- Since patch 8-8-24, you can now retry by spending 5 Energy instead of needing another summoning scroll.
- However, if you lose to the first Crow’s Warrior, you will have to give up and restart the quest.
- The summoned Crow’s Warriors will disappear after 10 minutes.
Chorpy <Pit of the Undying Keeper>
DEFEAT 5 BOSSES:
- Rakan: fairly easy
- Valkin: stay out of the purple/black fog. Watch for slow wind up animations before heavy hits
- Fareed: he will attempt to heal to full health. Use a skill with Floating on it to interrupt the heal.
- Bennet: she will spawn 2 illusions. Find the real Bennet by colliding into her. Illusions you can run through. The real Bennet will also have the lowest health. If you kill her illusions before her, all will die and reset at full health
- Evergart: has the most difficult HP and DP. Use Float skill during his smash attack then use Down Attacks when he is on the ground.
Crow’s Nest Location Map
Crow’s Nest is located north and a little east of Tinberra Island. Start from Velia and sail far NE past Iliya Island.
Crow’s Nest is somewhat far away and hidden in map fog. Look for the entrance next to a dock on the SW side of the island.
There is a <Wharf Manger> named Anax on Crow’s Nest.
Crow’s Nest is barely visible as a faded volcano-shaped island on the world map. This is because it is covered in map fog.
TIP: It helps to see Crow’s Nest better, if you angle your map in World Map view. (Press RMB and drag. This causes the map to rotate and you can look north from the side, instead of top down.)
Note that once you enter Ross Sea, your World Map disappears and the mini-map is of no help. Make sure you angle your ship in the correct direction from Tinberra Island. You will be able to see a silhouette of the island as you look out from your ship into the distant horizon. (As long as weather permits!)
You can use a compass to remove map fog.
Obtaining PRI: Undying Crow’s Insignia
After completing the [Crow’s Nest] quest line, you will obtain PRI: Undying Crow’s Insignia, after the following…
– [Crow’s Nest] Crow’s Mercenary
You will need to be wearing an insignia of PRI or higher level, in order to accept any Pit of Undying daily quests.
Pit of Undying Teleport
After completing the quest [Crow’s Nest] Crow’s Mercenary via the quest line, you can instantly teleport to Pit of Undying.
- Instantly teleport to the arena via the Escape menu. Press Esc > War > Pit of Undying.
- You MUST be in the following regions to teleport:
- Calpheon
- Heidel
- Valencia
- Altinova
- Grána
- Duvencrune
- O’draxxia
- Velia
- Crow’s Nest
- Teleport Requirements:
- After completing the quest line, you can only access Pit of the Undying via the Escape menu.
- You can’t be in a party to teleport to Pit of Undying.
- Use teleport (Press Esc > War > Pit of Undying) to leave Pit of Undying and go back to your original location.
- During the [Crow’s Nest] main quests, you can only enter the Pit of the Undying through NPC dialogue.
- To exchange Seal of the Undying for goodies from Patrigio, you need to leave Pit of the Undying and sail to Crow’s Nest via a boat.
- If you haven’t completed the quest line and finished [Crow’s Nest] Crow’s Mercenary, speak to NPC Lavala to enter the Pit of the Undying.
Promotion Quests to Obtain Better Rewards
After completing many daily boss challenge quests, you will have enough Crow’s Black Jewels to proceed to the next level.
PRI Â > Â DUO Â > Â TRI Â > Â TET Â > Â PEN
NOTE: You can still complete lower insignia levels, once you complete a promotion quest! For example: an adventurer with a TRI grade insignia can choose from all quests of PRI–TRI grade. However, accepting and proceeding with a quest of a certain grade will prevent you from attempting a quest of a different grade.
Higher Insignia Benefits:
- More challenging bosses
- More Seal of the Undying rewarded
- More Crow’s Black Jewel rewarded
- Promotion quest goodies
Promotion How To:
- Exchange Crow’s Black Jewel’s to Chorpy to obtain a promotion scroll.
- Use the Crow’s Promotion Scroll in your inventory to summon bosses.
- If you fail, you can abandon the quest and go to Chorpy for another promotion scroll. (Since patch May 17, 2023, you no longer need Black Jewels or Crow’s Sealed Promotion Scrolls to re-attempt Pit of the Undying promotion quests.)
- You cannot buy potions between duels, so buy what you need before the first one.

TIPS:
- you cannot accept Pit of Undying quests while in party
- you will fight a total of four bosses for PRI level.
- each boss drops Seal of Undying
- if you die to any boss, you can forfeit the quest and reaccept it to try again.
- upon defeating the final boss in the pit, you will also receive Crow’s Black Jewels. 10 are traded in for a promotion match (duo crows sealed promotion scroll)
- once you’ve completed a promotion quest, you CAN go back to previous levels
- promotions give access to higher insignias, which you can obtain more Seals and Crow’s Black Jewels.
- You can no longer use maids/butlers (storage/marketplace) in the Pit of the Undying.
PRI Pit of Undying Bosses
Pit of Undying of PRI level will summon the following different bosses…
First boss: Valkin
Second boss: Man of Steel or Fareed
Third boss: Brodie or Kunga
Forth boss: Evergart
UPDATE: in patch 8-8-24, the 5 Crow’s Warriors in the With All My Might quest have been significantly nerfed.
1. Valkin
Stay outside of Valkin’s purple/black fog. Watch for slow wind up animations before heavy hits.
2a. Man of Steel
Man of Steel will try to hit you with a strong 3-hit combo attack that you can avoid.
- If you get too far from Man of Steel, he will charge and stun you with a smash attack.
- at 50% HP, he will summon a Man of Fortitude
- Man of Fortitutde has high HP & DP and is vulnerable to your CC attacks
- Man of Steel will keep trying to charge and stun you
- Focus on Man of Steel 1st, using CC against Man of Fortitude.
- If you let both run free, you can get quickly over run because they continuously use knockdowns.
2b. Fareed
Fareed will attempt to heal to full health. Use a skill with Floating on it to interrupt the heal.
Since patch Fareed was changed to no longer uses the skill to fully recover HP after teleporting.
3a. Brodie
Brodie is an evasive archer. You will spend allot of time chasing him as he runs from you.
- Brodie sets traps that show timers
- Brodie’s traps detonate and explode when their timers run out
3b. Kunga
In order to defeat Kunga, you have to watch him very closely and use a skill with Floating against him at the right times. He does a lethal spinning attack at 25% HP that will kill you, if you do not successfully CC him 3 times before he reaches 25% HP.
So you have 4 opportunities to CC Kunga:
- 85% HP
- 70% HP
- 55% HP
- 40% HP
- 25% HP
To prevent your own death, watch Kunga’s movements and HP bar. Every 15% of HP he looses, use a skill with Floating on his back.
You will know when to use CC on him, because he will hold an animation before his attack and glow.
Thank you to Chris Poli for his helpful video!
4. Evergart
Evergart is a Succession Warrior and can be very ouchy!
- avoid his attacks by staying behind him
- if you stay close to him, he will not do as much damage
- use a Floating skill to interrupt him while he’s using his ground smash skill, then use a Down Attack
- Evergart will flicker before performing his heavy hitting skills
DUOÂ Pit of Undying Bosses
Level 2 of the Pit of Undying introduces some new bosses and a few of the old appear for the first few bosses.
First boss: Man of Steel
Second boss: Kunga or Brodie
Third boss: Bennet or Van Riker
Forth boss: Petroglyph Stalker
3a. Bennet
Since patch 8-8-24, Bennet is changed so that it no longer uses the skill to create clones.
- Bennet used to spawn 2 illusions. You would find and attack the real Bennet by colliding into her. Illusions you could run through. The real Bennet would also have the lowest health.
- If you made a mistake and killed her illusions before the real Bennett, all will died and reset at full health!
3b. Van Riker
Van Riker has two spinning attacks:
- Blue aura spinning attack means it is ok to DPS him
- Black/gray aura spinning attack requires you to use a Bound skill to knock him down. (If you don’t do this, then Van Riker will summon twisters that slowly chase you. If they catch you, then you will be killed.)
When Van Riker reaches about 5% HP, he will roar and buff himself. (You will see red sword and shield icons below his HP bar.) CC him again to during this time.
4. Petroglyph Stalker
Creates clones of himself that explode upon being killed. Be careful when you kill them, because they take a large amount of your HP.
RARE Pit of Undying Boss: Yulho
Yulho is a boss that has a low chance to spawn, after you have completed the [Crow’s Nest] quest line.
After finishing the second duel and receiving the reward, you’ll have a chance to face Yulho in a 1:1 duel. However, you cannot reattempt the fight if you lose.
The fight is normal, but does reward a large amount of Seal of Undying:

Major Update: Crow’s Nest
On one pitch-black urban night, a Crow who already had both fortune and fame firmly in his grasps came up with his darkest venture yet.
Ladies and Gentlemen, we proudly present to you: Pit of the Undying.
When we were coming up with this content, many things were going through our minds. Many of you have asked for more suspenseful, tactic-based PvE content. However, we had many stumbling blocks for adding this. This is because many of our classes do not have clearly defined roles, our game is in an action-packed hack and slash playstyle, and this game is an MMORPG with an open world of variables. How could we add this kind of content without going against the direction we have been developing Black Desert Online so far? We also didn’t want to distract from the fun of fighting bosses. Pit of the Undying is the result of all these considerations. We expect to add more diverse types of monsters to the pit of the Undying for you to challenge. We hope you enjoy this content and eagerly await your feedback.
- Tranan Underfoe, the blacksmith of Velia, has a strange tale for you of an island somewhere in the Great Ocean. Many brave sailors have searched for Crow’s Nest, yet returned in failure. That is if they were lucky enough to return at all. Now, you will have a chance to search for this misty island shrouded in mystery. Chase after that tale and you will get to meet the owner and founder of the Crow Merchants Guild, the “First Crow” and gaze upon a display of some of his most valued treasures in the Hall of Heroes. You will also be able to participate in the Pit of the Undying, a battle arena steeped in secrets.
- Crow’s Nest does not appear on the World Map, so you cannot use auto-navigation to guide you there.
- Added the quest series [The Great Expedition] Crow’s Nest. It is available once per family, for a character that is at least Lv. 56.
- You can check out the quest series under the Suggested tab of the Quests window, which will direct you to accept the first quest from the Black Spirit.
- Added Crow Merchants Guild members to greet adventurers traveling the Great Ocean in search of Crow’s Nest.
- Added a new category for Crow’s Nest related knowledge to the Knowledge (H) window.
- If you do not have the Crow’s Invitation, you will not be able to access the Hall of Heroes deep in Crow’s Nest and you will not be able to meet the owner of Crow’s Nest, the “First Crow.” You can get the invitation by completing certain quests.
- Opened the Pit of the Undying, the First Crow’s secret battle arena.
- The Pit of the Undying is a battle arena created by the First Crow for fighters to face off against his carefully selected Crow’s Warriors in seemingly endless rounds of battles for glory.
- If you die in the Pit of the Undying during the main Crow’s Nest quests, do not forfeit the quest but interact with Chorpy if you want a rematch.
- As you succeed in the Pit of the Undying, you can collect Seal of the Undying items and get Undying Crow’s Insignia of a higher grade.
- You will get your first Undying Crow’s Insignia after completing the quest series [The Great Expedition] Crow’s Nest.
- As you get higher grade Undying Crow’s Insignia, the more Seal of the Undying items you will get from the Pit of the Undying.
- Seal of the Undying is the key to the First Crow’s exclusive Crow Shop, which is only available at Crow’s Nest.
- This exclusive Crow Shop will be available after a later update.Â

Some info are outdated or missing.
If you fail in the DUO promotion test you’ll need 5 jewels in order to reaccept the quest, in the promotion tests you cannot buy potions between duels, so buy what you need before the first one.
For Evergart: you need to hit him with a float when he flashes blue, then when he is knocked back from your float, you must follow up with a knockdown skill. Only after those two conditions are met will he be knocked down and stripped of his ap+dp buff.
Thanks for the info!
Do normal death penalties apply here (IE: crystal breakage)?
First section says min. level 56, but I did not find any recommendations of min. AP/DP, so I cannot judge whether the wall of text (and Pit of Undying) is relevant for me or whether I am wasting my time. Please give some sort of indication of what is required in terms of AP/DP. First time I encountered one of those personal rift bosses, I wasted 25+ minutes to kill him and I have avoided that tedious crap ever since. If there is a risk that I have to do several 25-minutes bosses back-to-back, then I don’t want to waste… Read more »
PRI bosses are easier than Rift bosses, you may need to pay attention to avoid being hit. But you better level up your character to 6x and have some gears, i think full pen tuvala is enough, and have some buffs for example simple cron meal, giant draught, church buffs, villa/ tent buff…
