Epheria Carrack: Volante and Epheria Carrack: Valor were introduced in the The Great Expedition Update on 23 October 2019. Both ships are upgrades from Epheria Galleass and require an Epheria Galleass to craft.

Carracks are a great improvement over the Galleass, with almost every ship stat increased to create formidable battle ships.

Upgrade from Galleass to Volante or Valor:

  • 5500 more Weight Limit (69% increase in LT)
  • 70 more Cabins for Sailors
  • 5 more Inventory
  • 5 additional cannons on each side
  • faster cannon reload speed
  • 5% improvement in Turn/Brake
  • 5% to 10% greater Speed
  • Greater Durability and Rations

Volante & Valor: Best Battle Speeders

The upgrade ships from Epheria Galleass are NOT considered best for barter or trade.

They are considered best for manuverability and battle.

Cannon reload speed is almost the same. But note that Valor is the winner in this category.

Battle ships have less Inventory and Weight Limit, but more damage and Speed/Accel/Turn/Brake.

The Best Carrack: Volante or Valor?

Which Ship Should I Choose?

Carrack Valor and Volante are almost identical in stats.

Volante has greater speed in traveling and Valor has greater cannon speed.

If you want geater ease in killing sea monsters, the Carrack Valor does the most damage.

If you want to travel to your destinations faster, Carrack Volante is the fastest of all Carracks.

Carrack Materials Comparison

The materials for the Carrack Volante and Carrack Valor are almost the same.

The only difference is in the amount of two different materials.

Volante may be the easiest ship to obtain because it has a lower Deep Tide-Dyed Standardized Timber Square requirement. In my experience, this material isn’t as easy to obtain because Ship Material Refresh is stingy, only giving you a few.

Valor IMHO will take more active sea monster hunting time since it has a greater Deep Tide-Dyed Standardized Timber Square requirement. You will have to grind Ocean Stalkers or Cox Pirates’ Shadow Ghost if you want to speed things up.

You have the option of spending 100 Crow Coins for 1 Deep Tide-Dyed Standardized Timber Square. However, be careful using up your Crow Coins because some needed items can only be obtained at the Crow Coin shop like Carrack Toro Gear.

Volante requires more Moon Vein Flax Fabric, but I found it to be pretty common and plentiful during Ship Material Refresh.
