Epheria Carrack: Volante and Epheria Carrack: Valor were introduced in the The Great Expedition Update on 23 October 2019. Both ships are upgrades from Epheria Galleass and require an Epheria Galleass to craft.

Carracks are a great improvement over the Galleass, with almost every ship stat increased to create formidable battle ships.

Upgrades on Volante & Valor:

  • 5500 more Weight Limit (69% increase in LT)
  • 20 more Cabins for Sailors
  • 5 more Inventory
  • 5 additional cannons on each side
  • faster cannon reload speed
  • 5% improvement in Turn/Brake
  • 5% to 10% greater Speed

Upgrade to Epheria Carrack (Valor):

  • fastest cannon reload speed (1 second faster than Volante)
  • 5% improvement in Speed (5% lower speed than Volante)
  • 300,000 more Rations (100k more than Volante)
  • possibly less time cost? (requires 30 less Moon Vein Flax Fabric and 26 more Deep Tide-Dyed Standardized Timber Square. Fabric is obtained via fighting Nineshark and Khan vs Ocean Stalkers & Cox Pirates’ Shadow Ghost for the Timber)

Upgrade to Epheria Carrack (Volante):

  • cannons are 1 second faster (1 second slower than Valor)
  • highest Speed of all Carracks (120%: 5% more than Valor)
  • 200,000 more Rations (100k less than Valor)
  • possibly greater time cost? (requires 30 more Moon Vein Flax Fabric and 26 less Deep Tide-Dyed Standardized Timber Square. Fabric is obtained via fighting Nineshark and Khan vs Ocean Stalkers & Cox Pirates’ Shadow Ghost for the Timber)

The upgrade ships from Epheria Galleass are NOT considered best for barter or trade.

They are considered best for manuverability and battle.

Cannon reload speed is almost the same. But note that Valor is the winner in this category.

Battle ships have less Inventory and Weight Limit, but more damage and Speed/Accel/Turn/Brake.

The Best Carrack: Volante or Valor?

Which Ship Should I Choose?

Both Carracks are almost identical. For me, I would choose the Volante because of the 5% greater Speed. I like sailing fast. But if you are a MIN/MAX player and use your cannons allot, you should go with the Valor, with that 1 second better cannon reload speed and more HP/Rations. Be a slow poke! 🙂

Epheria Carrack (Volante) vs Epheria Carrack (Valor): Materials

The materials for the Carrack (Volante) and Carrack (Valor) are almost the same.

The only difference is in the amount of two different materials.

Volante seems to be the more difficult ship to obtain materials for because it has a higher Moon Vein Flax Fabric requirement. This item is obtained via fighting Khan (guild boss) and Nineshark. Both of these could be tricky to fight by yourself. However, if you are in a good sea monster hunting guild, this is easier to do.

Valor has a greater Deep Tide-Dyed Standardized Timber Square requirement. For an adventurer that perfers solo sea monster hunting, this would be more easily obtainable from Ocean Stalkers & Cox Pirates’ Shadow Ghost.

Both battle Carracks have alternatives to obtain the materials, but they would take much longer. (Ex. Young sea monsters, Oquilla Coins, Sea Coins)
