Barter Routes that require paintings appear in the beginning Barter levels. This guide will let you know which paintings to purchase and the land goods you can obtain from them.
Barterers that request paintings, allow for 2 Exchanges at once, which would require 2 paintings purchased from an NPC in Calpheon.
In exchange, the Barterer will give you one of two possible land goods.
Painting barters seem to be fairly common after a certain Barter level, but which route and item you will get is random.
Multiply painting cost x2 and land good quantities x2 if you do the maximum exchanges.
Landscape Painting of Demi River 1,000,000 silver

- Vinegar (2,500 to 3,000)
Landscape Painting of a Tree 1,100,000 silver

Profitability of Painting Barter Routes
Should I Barter Paintings?
All the land goods you obtain from painting barters will be used for future Barter Routes.
Some of the land goods that you get are somewhat rare and would take hours to obtain yourself, like the Fruit of Abundance.
I always do the Fruit of Abundance painting barters because I like to keep them for other crafting. I don’t normally do the Barter Routes that take my Fruit of *.
You have to decide what your play time is worth and what you enjoy the most. You may want to actually use the item the Barter would take away.
Do Painting Barters Make Money?
At the time of this writing the Barter Routes for paintings make silver, if you sell the land goods at the Marketplace. But be sure to look up the Marketplace demand and pricing for any Barter that gives land goods, as pricing can flucuate with events, supply, etc.
Sailing & Travel Time
Keep in mind the time you are eating up just sailing to the Barter NPC. It also takes time to travel to Calpheon City to buy the paintings.
I do the painting exchanges, when it looks like they are already along a Barter Route I want to do.
NOTE: Paintings DO NOT STACK!!!
You may want to buy paintings ahead of time on an Alt or store them somewhere (Wagon/Storage/Alt) near a wharf for easier access. Keep in mind they don’t stack!
Paintings weigh 5 to 25 LT each.
