BDO Fast Travel (Black Desert Online)

Black Desert Online Fast Travel? Would you settle for FASTER Travel? BDO Travel can be a real challenge to gamers used to other MMORPGs where frequent teleports, fast travel, and flight are on demand. Players might be shocked to learn that in BDO, it can take 45 minutes to travel to remote lands in Margoria that are far across the ocean. That’s all well and good, if you’re patient and can just enjoy the beautiful Black Desert Online scenery. But what about everyone else?

I’ve compiled some BDO fast travel tips to help ease the weary traveler.

BDO Fast Travel Tips

1. Magnus Abyssal Wells: Abyssal Wells contain teleports to almost every region. Requires Magnus Questline completion.
2. Fast Travel with Friendly Face: Running in combat mode with your mean face on gives you an 11% speed penalty. (Tab key)

3. Fast Travel with Roadways: Movement speed is 100% on roads, 90% off-road, and 80% over shallow water. (If it’s deep water, you’ll begin to SLOOOOOW swim and it’s the SLOOOOW kiss of death for mounts if you’re unable to whistle/call them once you reach shore!)
4. Sprint: Shift key makes you sprint on horse and foot
5. Griffon, Ferry, & Sky Balloons: You can travel via certain NPCs. Sky Balloons cost one Black Stone, but instantly appear to take you to your destination. You can AFK while on them because they will drop you off. Griffon and Ferry must be waited upon until they arrive and you have to keep an eye on the screen in order to jump on and off at the right time. Learn more about Griffon, Ferry, & Sky Balloon Travel.
6. Buff +5 Movement Speed: +5 equals about 20% increase.
7. Traveler’s Map: expensive, but if you can afford it, why not? These rarely dropped, 1 time use maps will teleport you to the nearest explored town. 6 hour cooldown. Current price: 725k Silver.

8. Archaeologist’s Map: It works like a Traveler’s Map, except it’s permanent and allows two-way teleport, instead of one-way teleport. It will take you to the town of your choosing (within a certain proximity), but also take you back to the location where you teleported from. It has a 6 hour cool down after first use, with a 30 minute window to return to your original location.

9. Ditch the Mule: I know you love Ole Free Muley… but imagine +150% fast travel. Dream Horses have the best speed in the game, but you will pay about 10 billion for them at the Stable Keeper’s Marketplace. (They also have more reasonably priced lower tiers for sale.) You can train and breed horses yourself and start saving Dream Horse mats to save some Silver.

10. Fast Travel with Transport / Teleport: You can transport your character to a city you have already visited and switch to a different character (It takes 20 minutes to transport.) Transport by pressing Esc » Disconnect » Transport button within city limits. (Be sure to mount your horse before teleporting or it will be left behind!)

11. NPC Finder/Travel Button: small “NPC” button on the top right of your game screen. Search for any NPC name or their title/description. Click on the name and it will auto path to that NPC, then the T key to auto-run there. Also targets the nearest and most popular NPCs whose name you don’t know, like nearest Stable Master

12. Escape Option: If you’re in a bind and stuck, press Esc key and then the “Escape” button in the game interface. The times I have used it were when I got stuck in the ocean and both times it placed me on the mainland. However, you never know the “safe” area it’s going to put you, so use at your own risk!
13. Mount Remote Collect: If you accidentally find yourself miles away from your horse, you can “Remote Collect” your horse at the nearest Stable Keeper. But only if the horse has no items in its saddle bags! If your horse is carrying any items, then it will be teleported to the nearest stable and probably loose any trade goods he was carrying… grrr.
14. Checked-in Mount/Ship Transport:

    • You can transport mounts held in another Wharf/Stable to the current Wharf/Stable. Guild mounts are excluded from this function.

    • Transporting a mount costs 100,000 silver and will take 10 minutes to complete.

    • Transporting mounts with trade or barter goods in their inventory have a certain chance to lose all those items, so please take note.

    • Large ships cannot be transported to areas they cannot traverse to (i.e. rivers).

15. Lafi Bedmountain’s Upgraded Compass: Lafi Bedmountain’s Upgraded Compass is like the Ancient Explorer’s Compass, but allows you to summon your party to you. On use it gives Effect: Send a “[Party] Assembly” command to online party members to instantly summon them to the user’s location every 10 minutes. Both compasses allow you to view your map location in the Great Desert and Great Ocean. (Map functionality is removed in these areas, without having one of these compasses.) Compass parts drop in Valencia and the Hystria Ruins dungeon. Explorer’s Compass Part drop node locations: Pila Ku Jail, Roud Sulfur Works, Titium Valley (Fogans). Collect 3 Explorer’s Compass Parts and arrange them in the shape of a [-]. You will obtain Ancient Explorer’s Compass (3 Days).
