BDO Pets are little companions that automatically follow your character around and loot corpses for you. You don’t lift a finger! Of course, with anything Black Desert Online, that doesn’t mean BDO pets are simple or boring. The pet system is filled with wonderful complexity. You may even find their high expense worth it, as you encounter their cute munchkin faces and watch their moody antics!
IMHO pets are necessary in order to enjoy the game. They do more than just pick up loot.
BDO Pet Facts:
- Pet Buffs: gives a long list of passive buffs that help you with Life Skills, Knowledge, and Combat
- Loot Speed: up to 2.25 seconds depending on pet tier.
- Tier 1 pet → 3.60 sec (Behavior is set at Agile)
- Tier 4 pet → 2.25 sec (Behavior is set at Agile)
- Pet Food: A hungry pet will not pick up loot or use their Talent.
- 5 Pet Tiers: upgrade to Tier 4 via Pet Exchange (AKA Pet Breeding) and finally a Tier 5 pet quest.
- Obtaining Pets: Pets are bought at the Pearl Shop. A limited amount of free pets can be obtained via Quest/Attendance/Challenge Rewards.
Pets pick up your loot for you and give helpful buffs. The higher your pet’s tier, the faster it will loot and the more buffs it will give. You can have up to 5 pets checked out at the same time.
Pet Food & Hunger
Pet Food retores a pet’s Hunger Level and enables your pet to pick up loot and use its Special Ability.
If your pet’s Hunger Level reaches 0%, it will no longer loot or use its Special Ability. It’s Talent and Skills, however, will still work, as long as the Pet is checked out of the stable.
Cheap Feed is the easiest to obtain because it’s readily available at every <Stable Keeper> for 3,000 silver. Unfortunately, it only restores 12 Hunger and is heavy to carry. Better pet food that restores much more Hunger, can be cooked or bought at the Marketplace.

Pet Food NPC: Melissa Brady
Melissa Brady, in Heidel, sells Silk Honey Grass Supplement and Brady’s Supplement Powder that claims to add a growth speed buff to your Pet Food. After completing the quests from Melissa Brady, she will give Knowledges, Pet – Stoneback Crab, and Pet – Desert Fox for 5 energy each.

1x Silk Honey Grass Supplement
1x Good Feed

Brady’s Nutritious Feed
Processing > Simple Cooking:
1x Brady’s Supplement Powder
1x Organic Feed

UPDATE: with patch August 2, 2023, pet levels were removed from the game. Therefore, pet foods that claim “growth” abilities are pointless and only act as normal feed, which restore Hunger level.

Pet Skills
Each pet can have up to 3 different pet skills, depending on their tier.
-
- Tier 1 → 1 Pet Skill
- Tier 2 → 1 Pet Skill
- Tier 3 → 2 Pet Skills
- Tier 4 → 3 Pet Skills
Pets get 1 skill at tier 1. Another skill is added when they gain tier 3 and another one at tier 4.
Pet skills stack up to 5x with each pet that is checked out of the stable. So you can have up to 5x any of the same pet skill. For example, 5 pets that have a Combat Exp skill would give +25% Combat Exp. However, one pet can’t have multiple Combat Exp skill.
How to Obtain Specific Pet Skills
Pets have a predetermined chance to learn a specific set of skills.
As with most things in BDO, chance still plays a role in determining which pet skills your pet will obtain.
For example, some pets have a higher chance of learning Hunting Exp +5%.
Bos’n Jak is an example of one pet that has a 48% chance to learn +5% Hunting EXP.
Bos’n Jack
- Pet Type: RARE
- Talent: +50LT Big Ship Weight each Tier
- Special Skill: Auto-Fishing Time Reduction
- 5x T4 Bos’n Jack = 1,000 LT
- Increased Chances to Learn these Skills:
- Fishing Exp +5%
- Hunting Exp +5%
- Training Exp +5%
- Trading Exp +5%
- Karma Recovery +5%
Pet Skill Learn Chance
To view which skills have the highest learn chances:
Pet window → Exchange → Select 2+ pets → Skill Learning Chance
During pet exchange, you will also have the opportunity to choose a set of pet skills from any of the pets selected in the exchange. To do this choose the “Skill” button.
The Appearance button allows you to select which pet’s Talent and Special Ability you want.

Pet Skill Change Coupon
Pet Skill Change Coupons can be purchased from the Pearl Shop for 250 Pearls each or 2500 pearls for 11. After acquiring a coupon, open the pet UI and select the Change Pet Skill icon to open up the Change Pet Skill UI.
Select the skill you want to change and the skill you’d like to have from the list on the right. You will see the chances the pet has of acquiring each skill.
In the picture below you can see that the skill I want to change is Karma +5% and the skill I’d like to have is Fishing +1. Pressing the Apply button will consume the Pet Skill Change Coupon and reroll Karma +5% in favor of Fishing +1, but this does not guarantee that I will get Fishing +1 when it rerolls.
The chances of this pet getting Fishing +1 in the reroll is a dismal 1.8%. It is more likely that I will get Fishing EXP +5% or Alchemy EXP +5% which the pet has a 27.2% chance of learning already.
Every time the change is unsuccessful, your Skill Change Point count will increase by 1. This will increase your chances of acquiring the skill you want next time.
Pet Talent
Pet Talents are similar to pet skills, but each pet can only have 1.
Pet Talent improves with each tier the pet gains.
Pet Talent is located on the far right.

How do I get the pet talent I want?
Pet Talents are not random like pet skills. Instead, pet talents are predetermined and unique to each pet.
For example, most cats have the Life Skill exp Talent. Most dogs have the Combat Skill exp Talent.
Be sure to check the pet’s description carefully before purchase to find the Talent you want.
Pet Talent Details
Pet Talents are very useful, especially the experience Talents.
- Item Durability Loss: 1%-5% This is a convenient Talent, so that you don’t have to stop as often to repair. It even works on Life Skill tools like fishing poles and axes. Repair becomes less of an issue if you have the Naphart Camping Set and Item Brand Stones.
- Knowledge Pets: Knowledge Increase 5-25%, and Higher-Grade Knowledge Chance 1-5%
- Chance to Gain Knowledge: Increases the frequency of Knowledge rolls when you kill etc. You may gain a lower grade than the one you currently have, but lower grades will not lower your rank. Only higher ranks are applied.
- Chance to Gain Higher-grade Knowledge: Increases the chance that the Knowledge learned will be a higher rank/grade than the Knowledge you currently know.
- Knowledge pets are a good choice for beginners, but loose some of their usefulness after you have obtained all Knowledge. They are useful for both grinding and Life Skills. Knowledge increases Max energy, which is required for Gathering and leveling up Nodes. Knowledge also gives buffs to mobs drops. Knowledge does have a cap as long as no new Knowledge content is added.
- Experience Talents: Life Skill Experience Gain 1-5%, Skill Experience Gain 1-5%, and Combat Experience Gain 1-5%. These are probably the most useful buffs to obtain. 4% for T4 doesn’t sound like much, but with 5 T4 pets, you could increase your experience by 20%. Most cats give Life Skill buff and most dogs give Combat Skill Exp.
- Item Drop Increase: Arctic Fox or Prestige Black Panther (Rare pets) +1% Item Drop Rate per tier.
- Other Unique Talents: Weight Limit Increase 20-60 LT (Polar Bear), Hit Point Bonus 25-125 HP (Young Crimson Dragon).
Pet Special Ability
Pet Special Abilities provide some of the best buffs in the game. Each pet gets 1 Special Ability that is predetermined by it’s breed. You can find the pet’s Special Ability in the pet UI, listed just below the pet’s name in blue text. The Llama’s Special Ability is “Gathering Item Quantity Increase”.
Some Special Abililites can stack when you have more than 1 pet out with the same Special Ability and some can’t. See the table below.
Stackable | Special Skill |
---|---|
YES | – Finds Resources – Detects Hostility (Evil Karma, Enemy Guild) – Draws Aggro – Finds Rare Monsters |
NO | – Auto-Fishing Time Reduced (Limit 1) – Resistance to Heatstorke and Hypothermia (Limit 1) – Gathering Item Quantity Increase (Limit 1) |
Improving Pet Special Skills
Some Pet Special Skills do improve with each tier. This is hidden information, that can only be seen by player reporting and testing, however.
Known Pet Special Skills that Improve Each Tier:
- Gathering Item Quantity Increase
- Auto-Fishing Time Reduced
Pet Special Ability Details
The Special Skill that I find the most useful is Gathering Amount Increase from Hedgehog or Llama and Auto Fishing Time Reduced.
- Gathering Amount Increase: 30%-50% chance to proc an extra gather, depending on tier. Hedgehog and Llama.
- Auto-fishing Time Reduced: Pets like Marmot and Otter are Premium and available all the time, costing 1100 Pearls. (Also in Rare pets: Penguin and Polar Bear.)
- Finds Resources: Alerts to 1 gatherable resource every few seconds like herbs, trees, etc. I haven’t found this very useful. After a while you get to know what they look like. Detection feels slow. Can find up to 5 resources, if you have 5 pets with this on.
- Hostility Detection: Alerts to hostile guild and PVP flagged players in range. (Pings a red dot on the mini map)
- Finds Rare Monsters: Alerts to nearby elite mobs. (Pings a red dot on the mini map)
- Taunt Monster: Your pet will run out and draw 1 monster to you. Can pull up to 5 monsters, if you have 5 pets with this on. I don’t see this as being very useful and can actually mess up the timing on your pulls.
- Desert Disease Resistance: Reduces the chance that you will gain one of the Valencia Desert DoT debuffs. The resistance goes up to 35%, so it will negate 1/3 of the DoTs. You will still need to carry water and tea anyway to cure the 65% that land on you while in the Great Desert.
Best Pet Choices
The best pet in BDO will improve the areas most enjoyable for you. Below are the top pets based upon play style.
- Gathering Pets: Hedgehog or Llama give Gathering Item Increase
- Combat Skill EXP Pets: most classic type dogs
- Life Skill Exp Pets: most cats, Hedgehog, Otter, etc
- Knowledge Pets: most birds
- Free Pets! 🙂 from Quest/Attendance/Challenge Rewards – Free Pet Guide
The best pet in BDO is determined by how you like to play. The Hedgehog pet is very powerful for people who like the Life Skill of Gathering and want to progress into other Life Skills. The Hedgehog has a chance to gather twice for the same amount of Energy.
Desert Resistance is a great Special Skill if you enjoy hunting in the Great Desert of Valencia. (There are many great hunting areas there.)
Polar Bears increase your weight limit by +60LT each. It’s a pricey way to purchase additional weight, but may come in handy for a character that already has the maximum weight purchased.
Keep in mind, some pets have limited availability, so you will need patience if you want a seasonal or holiday pet.
Life Skill Pets
With 5 Pets:
Life Exp from Pet Skills: up to +25% (all pets RNG chance)
Life Exp from Talents: up to +21% (some pets)
Duration: continuous, must be out of stable
Pets have a random chance to obtain +5% EXP of a specific Life Skill, in the form of Gathering Exp, Hunting Exp, etc.
Pets get a random skill when they gain tiers after pet breeding. (3 Skills at tier 4, plus 1 Talent)
With the maximum allowed pets of 5, you could have up to +25% Gathering EXP as an example, just from pet skills. (Life Exp Talents give 4% per pet at Tier 4.)
Pets with Life Skill Exp Talents:
Choppy, Hedgehog, Penguin, Marmot, Shadow Wolf, Little Lamb, Otter, Ferret, Flondor Duck, Panda (not red), Jojo, Newborn Crimson Dragon, Newborn Golden Dragon, most cat pets, etc (900+ Pearls)
- 1% Life EXP Talent per Tier (up to +21% for 5 pets)
- all pets have RNG chance to learn +5% *specific life skill type* EXP buff (up to +25% for 5 pets)
- T5 pets have special talent rules.
Hedgehog is considered a must have pet for many Life Skill players.
- Life EXP +5% at tier 5
- good chance of learning other beneficial skills of Gathering and Fishing +5% (and Combat EXP +5%)
- significantly increases items for Gathering & Hunting Life Skills
Life Skill EXP Calculation from Pets
The maxium Life Skill Exp you can obtain from pets is +46%.
Life Skill Pet Examples:
- 1x Tier 4 Cat = 4% Life EXP
- 5x T4 Cats = 20% Life Exp
- 5x T4 Cats all with 5% Processing Exp Skill = 45% Processing Exp
- 4x T4 and 1x T5 Cat all with 5% Processing Exp Skill = 46% Processing Exp

- Alchemy EXP → 42.76%
- Karma Recovery → 40.39%
- Cooking EXP → 38.42%
- Fishing EXP → 38.29%
- Farming EXP → 38.29%
Other Life Skill Pets
Besides pets that give Life Skill EXP from a Talent Skill, I find the following pets to be helpful.
Pets with Other Unique Life Skill Ability:
- Haetae Talent: a cat giving Mount EXP Boost (1% per tier) Although, unfortunately, his special skill is Hostility Detection.
- Auto-fishing Time Special: giving about 10%-30% time reduction. Penguin, Marmot, Otter, Newborn Crimson Dragon, Newborn Golden Dragon, Young Crimson Dragon (Garmoth drop), Bos’n Jack
- Bos’n Jack Talent: parrot that gives big ships more Bartering LT.
Combat Pets
Young Dragons have a pet talent that could give a possible extra 20% Combat EXP, if you obtain 5 of them and exchange them to Tier 4.
They also have a random chance to obtain the +5% Combat Exp Skill each tier.
- 1x Tier 4 Dragon = 4% Combat EXP
- 5x T4 Dragons = 20% Combat Exp
- 5x T4 Dragons with 5% Combat Exp Skill = 45% Combat Exp
Young Dragon Skill Chances:
- – Gathering EXP → 58.14%
- – Combat EXP → 56.62%
- – Karma Recovery → 51.32%
- – Fishing EXP → 49.11%
- – Luck +1 → 24.88%
- – Hunting EXP → 14.7%
Young Black Dragon
- Talent: Combat EXP +1% each Tier

Other Combat Pets
Pets with Combat Skill Exp Talents:
Most dogs, Panda, Red Panda, Monster Pets (Red Orc, Golem, Tree Spirit, Chimera, Centaurus, Kama Brown Bear), Midnight Lynx, Sylvian Wolf
Pets with Combat Exp +5%:
There are certain pets that have an unusually high chance of learning the pet skill, Combat EXP +5%.
- Rare: gold and normal hedgehogs, lost penguin, polar bear, Pwudgy Llama, Young Black Dragon, Young Gold Dragon
Premium: Young Griffon - There are probably more, but these are the ones I know of.

Pet Loot Speeds
A pet’s behavior impacts its loot speed. It can be set to Cautious (slowest), Normal (default), or Agile (fastest). The fastest loot speed makes the pet’s hunger level decrease faster.
If a pet’s hunger level reaches 0, they will not pick-up items and their talents stop working.
Right-click the behavior command icon to change the behavior of all your pets at the same time.
Tier 1 | 4 seconds |
Tier 2 | 4 seconds |
Tier 3 | 3 seconds |
Tier 4 | 2.5 seconds |
Tier 5 | 15% reduction in loot cooldown for all pets |
Pet Exchange (Pet Breeding)
Pet Exchange is used to produce a higher tier pet, which picks up loot faster, acquires extra Skills, and increases the Talent strength. If you have two pets of the same Type, you can exchange both for 1 new pet and possibly obtain a higher tier pet.
The more pets you add, the greater your chances that the new pet will be a higher tier than the Main pet. Pet Tier never decreases.
It doesn’t matter if the parent pets are the same species, as long as they are the same Type. For example, I exchanged a Premium red panda and a Premium macaw.
IMPORTANT: all pets used in pet exchange are destroyed and a new one is born. You can decide which parent you want to inherit skills and appearance.
Pet Exchange Tips:
- Pets must be checked in to add them to the Exchange Window.
- T1 to T3 pets are Exchanged to increase Tier, Skills, and Talent/Special power.
- T4 pets can be Exchanged in order to change their skills.
- T5 pets can NOT be Exchanged to change skills.
- Pets of different species can be Exchanged as long as they are the same Type. (Rare, Classic, Premium, or Event)
- Click Exchange button to view Pet Types.
- Main Pet slot is the first large slot. Highest Tier goes here.
- Inherit the Appearance + Special Ability + Talent of any pet in the Exchange. If you don’t choose, the created pet will inherit from the Main Pet. IMPORTANT: Appearance + Special Ability + Talent is tied to pet Appearance! You cannot put a Penguin’s “Auto-fishing Time Reduced” Special Skill on a Dog.
- Pet Skill sets are transferred from your choice of one of the pets in the Pet Exchange. NOTE: You cannot pick and choose one Skill from one pet and another skill from a different pet. You get all the Pet Skills from ONE pet. Or have the game randomly reroll all Pet Skills.
Pet Exchange Appearance
After you have added your parent pets, the Appearance button will let you choose which parent you want your new pet to resemble. Your new pet will have the Appearance, Talent, and Special Ability of the main pet if another Appearance is not chosen. Choose the question mark if you feel like gambling and want the game to choose for you!
IMPORTANT: Special Abilities and Talents that pets have are tied to their Appearance! Example: A cat has the Special Skill Resource Detection + Life Skill Exp. However, if a dog Appearance is selected, then the created pet will have the Special and Talent of the dog. (most likely Hostility Detection + Combat Skill EXP Boost)
Pet Skill Change
The Skill Button will allow you to choose which of your pet’s Skill sets you want to keep.
Choose which parent’s Skills you want to pass on to your new pet.
You are not able to choose Skills from both parents.
If you don’t want to keep either pet’s Skills, choose the row of question marks to let the game select your new pet’s Skills randomly.
Example Pet Exchange:
So what happens if you have a pet with 2 Skills and a pet with 1 Skill?
A Tier 3 pet with 2 Skills and a Tier 2 pet with 1 Skill will allow you to pick either pet’s Skill set. If you choose the Tier 2 pet’s Skill set and end up with a Tier 3 baby, your new baby will have the Skill set you chose plus one random Skill.

Pet Exchange with Wizard Gosphy
Wizard Ghosphy is a very unique pet. He cannot be Exchanged to increase his Tier and always stays at Tier 1. However, this Wizard will increase the chances of getting a higher Tier pet more than other Tier 1 pets. (giving 20% instead of 15%) Ghosphy can be exchanged with any pet, even Rare pets. Gosphy might be useful, depending upon how much he costs. (Last cost was 1650 Pearls… not cheap by any stretch, but Wizard Gosphy may be cheaper than buying a Pet Bundle to get another Rare pet, for example.
Wizard Gosphy Comparison:
Normal Exchange: (T3main) + T3 + T2 + T2 + T1 = 35% + 25% + 25% + 15% = 100% T4 pet exchange chance
Wizard Exchange: (T3main) + T3 + T2 + Wiz + Wiz = 100% T4 pet exchange chance
Gosphy allows you to use one less T2 pet in Exchange to make a T4. (Which means it’s not cheaper, when compared to Premium pet exchanges, but would be cheaper in some Rare pet exchanges. See T4 Exchange section below.)
Tier 4 Pet Cost & How-To
Normal Pet Exchange:
(T3main) + T3 + T3 + T1 + T1 = 35% + 35% + 15% + 15% = 100% T4 pet exchange chance
(T3main) + T3 + T2 + T2 + T1 = 35% + 25% + 25% + 15% = 100% T4 pet exchange chance
Wizard Exchange: (T3main) + T3 + T2 + Wiz + Wiz = 35% + 25% + 20% + 20% = 100% T4 pet exchange chance
1 Tier 4 Pet = Max Price $121
Creating one T4 pet costs $121 Max price. (With Unlucky Exchanges, not buying Pearl Boxes in bulk, and purchasing pets that cost 1100 Pearls.) Buying expensive pet bundles that have extras will raise the cost even higher. Rare pets are often found in these types of bundles. If you buy Pearl Boxes in $100 increments, you get 1,500 extra Pearls. If you buy $600 worth of Pearl Boxes, it will give you 69,000 Pearls, which is enough to make 5 T4 pets.
Using Wizard Gosphy in Exchanges does not save money over normal Exchange with Premium pets, but he may help save you money, if you use him to upgrade Rare pets.
Wiz Rare Pet Exchange
T1 + T1 = T2 (T3 if lucky)
T1 + T1 + T1 = T3
T1 + T1 + T1 = T3
(T3 Main) + T3 + T2 + Wiz + Wiz = T4
Total Pets for 1 T4 Pet = 10 (8 + 2 Wiz)
Total $$$ for 1 T4 Pet = $121 (8,800 + 3,300 = 12,100 Pearls)
12,100 x 5 pets = 60,500 Pearls
Total $$$ for 5 T4 pets = $605 Max Price
TOTAL SAVINGS = same as Premium pets
T4 Premium Pet Exchange
T1 + T1 = T2 (T3 if lucky)
T1 + T1 = T2 (T3 if lucky)
T1 + T1 + T1 = T3
T1 + T1 + T1 = T3
(T3main) + T3 + T2 + T2 + T1 = T4
Total pets for 1 T4 Pet = 11
Total $$$ for 1 T4 Pet = $121 (12,100)
11 Pets x 5 = 60,500 Pearls
Total $$$ for 5 T4 pets = $605 Max Price
How to Save Money on T4 Pets:
- There is a 55% chance to obtain a T3 by Exchanging two Tier 1 pets. So if you are lucky, you can save some by mashing all your Tier 1 pets together and THEN try to put together T4 pets.
- When buying Pearl Boxes in $100 bundles, the price of an 1100 Pearl pet is $9.56. Total cost for really bad luck during T4 Exchange, (using 11 pets to make 1 Tier 4) would be $105.23
- You can also stick with the 900 Pearl pets, which are the basic cats and dogs. This would reduce your bad luck Exchange to $86.09
- Wait for pet sales (normally 20% off, rarely 50% off. Event bundles can discount even more.)
- Stop at Tier 3, which gives 3 second loot speed. (Tier 4 only gives 0.5 extra loot speed, but increases Talent power and gives 1 more skill.)
Tier 4 Pet Breeding Best Combinations – In-depth Analysis
Thank you to Aldodzb, who made the following detailed Tier 4 Pet Exchange Analysis! View Aldodzb’s original reddit post.
Hi, I have been doing some comparisions between all posibles breeds combinations for tomorrow’s patch to get the full t4 roaster and I would like to share and discuss.
First, I would never risk even at 90-95%. The slim chance of loosing a considerable ammount of money bothers me a lot. Second, I will asume that you already have a full t3 roaster (the reference will be the string “main”).
So, with that being said, I came to the conclusion that there are 2 good formulas to follow:
[1] (T3main) + T3 + T3 + T1 + T1 = 35% + 35% + 15% + 15% = 100%
[2] (T3main) + T3 + T2 + T2 + T1 = 35% + 25% + 25% + 15% = 100%
At the beginning, we are going to buy T1 pets and smash them together and the following questions pops up:
- When should I stop buying pets?
- How should I breed the pets in order to minimize the ammount of $$ spent?
The formula [1] is a better option than the 2nd, the best case scenario is to get the t4s roaster only using the [1] formula because it means that after smashing t1’s you always got T3 (that would be 0.0025%, around 1 in 40.000). With a total of 30 pets used.
But, in most cases we will get a bounch of T3’s and T2’s.. so again, when should we stop buying and how to combine them?
The aproach I took was, there are 2 possibilities after we breed T1’s, or we are get a T2 (45%) or a T3 (55%).
In a set of 15 pairs, its expected to get around 8 T3’s and 7 T2’s (+-1). So, the pet exchange scheme would be:
(T3main) + T3 + T3 + T1 + T1 = 100%
(T3main) + T3 + T3 + T1 + T1 = 100%
(T3main) + T3 + T3 + T1 + T1 = 100%
(T3main) + T3 + T2 + T2 + T1 = 100%
(T3main) + T3 + T2 + T2 + T1 = 100%
You will end up with some T2 wasted. Trying to adjust the numbers, lets try will 13 pairs, in this case its expected to get 7 T3’s and 6 T2’s.
(T3main) + T3 + T3 + T1 + T1 = 100%
(T3main) + T3 + T3 + T1 + T1 = 100%
(T3main) + T3 + T2 + T2 + T1 = 100%
(T3main) + T3 + T2 + T2 + T1 = 100%
(T3main) + T3 + T2 + T2 + T1 = 100%
And that fits perfectly, this is the expected case with 33 pets being used and 100% to get the t4 roaster!
WHY is this important? Because if you do not have in mind the combinations and the results that you have to get, one will probably end up breeding after smashing just to get the 100% and possibly wasting %’s and therefore money.
Here, the order is crucial, if you get 5 T2’s in a row DO NOT DESPERATE AND DO NOT START BREEDING, continue smashing T1s, you could still get all the T3s you need and save $$.
If you get more than 6 T2s pets before the 13 attempts, then you have to vary the scheme a little bit and buy extra pets to compensate it. So instead of [2] try to:
[3] (T3main) + T2 + T2 + T2 + T2 = 25% + 25% + 25% + 25% = 100%
If you get more than 7 T3’s before the 13 attempts, you save pets and always follow:
[1] (T3main) + T3 + T3 + T1 + T1 = 35% + 35% + 15% + 15% = 100%
Don’t forget that the appearance determinates the pets special skill and good luck with the roll of the normal skills!
Any observation would be appreciated!
TL;DR: Always try to smash your T3 with other two T3’s and 2 T1’s before the 14th bred. If you have already bred for the 13th time and you still don’t have at least 7 T3’s then try to:
- T3main + T2 + T2 + T2 + T2
Otherwise, if you have 8 or more T3:
- First use as long as you can: T3 + T3 + T1 + T1
- Then: T3 + T2 + T2 + T1
BDO Pet Appearance Change Coupons
You can get the appearance of any tier, by using a Pet Appearance Change Coupon. Purchasing a Pet Appearance Change Coupon for 250 Pearls or 2800 Loyalties.
Right click the Pet Appearance Change Coupon in your Pearl Inventory. It will open a window where you can change the Appearance of any pet you own. When you have decided on a new look for one of your pets, click the Change button. That’s all there is to it.
Example Pet Appearance Change for each Tier:
Pet House
Pet houses have no function. They are housing decorations.
After the pet levels were removed from the game, what happened with the specific skills cause it was increased effect through pet levels? Like Auto-Fishing Time Reduced or Resistance to Heatstorke and Hypothermia
Hello 🙂 Pet levels were removed, however there is still a sort of level system, called TIERS. This is what can improve a pet’s Special Ability like Auto-Fishing Time Reduced. Tiers are increased via Pet Exchange. Hope that makes sense. It can be a bit complicated learning all the terms and what does what. See section under Talent for more info.
But in each tier was affected by different levels.
Take Auto-Fishing Time Reduced for example:
“T3 level 1 = -15% Auto-Fishing Time
T3 level 10 = -25% Auto-Fishing Time
T4 Level 1 = -20% Auto-Fishing Time
T4 Level 10 = -30% Auto-Fishing Time”
So what happened when there was no level system?
Haha it’s easy to confuse Talent, Special, and normal skill. How tiers impact Special Ability is hidden info. So the only way we can know them is by player testing and reporting. Talent tier changes are obvious because the game tells us. For example, Bos’n Jack’s Big Ship Weight talent. There is no gradual rise between 50LT and 100LT, depending on the pet’s level. It’s only based upon the pet’s tier. Therefore, I think it’s safe to assume the hidden values for special abilities are the same. Hope that helps. Have fun!
So that’s how it work. Thanks for explaining.
You’re the best XD
Have fun! 🙂
