BDO Free Pets Guide (Black Desert Online)

BDO pets normally cost Pearls or millions of silver and a lucky purchase on the marketplace.

However, players can complete the main quest line to obtain 5 pets. Did I mention these pets are FREE? *happy dance*

– Bartali’s Buster (Shaggy Dog)
– Lauren’s Fluffy (Fluffy)
– Kalis’ Delphe (Sky Hawk)
– Bareed’s Junaid (Junaid Cat)
– Marumin’s Squawky (Scarlet Macaw)

These pets are obtained via completing the main story questline, up to Valencia.

7 Other Pets: Other pets obtainable include a Loyalties bird, a dog or cat from a Challenge Reward, a dragon pet from a rare drop or Shakatu Seals, a fox from Deve’s Encyclopedia, Nouver pet, a scorpion from Sycrakea, and a mole.

Free Pet: Bartali’s Buster (Shaggy Dog)

The first free pet you will obtain will probably be the New Adventurer’s Attendance Reward of [Event] Kuku. This is normally given out on day 2 of playing BDO.

The second one you will obtain will be Bartali’s Buster, which is a fancy name for Shaggy Dog available in the Pearl Shop. This pet is good for obtaining Combat Skill Exp and for detecting PVP players. Combat Skill Exp is +1% and up to +4% at Tier 4.

Finish the main questline in Balenos or Everfrost to obtain. Press O key then Main tab.

Bartali’s Buster

Normal Skill: Loot (4 sec, based on Tier 1, Lv. 10.)
Talent: Skill Exp +1% per tier
Special Skill: Hostility Detection

Free Pet: Lauren’s Fluffy (Fluffy)

The next free pet is Lauren’s Fluffy, the equivalent of Fluffy in the Pearl Shop. This pet is beneficial for players who like to die alot! 🙂

Finish the main questline in Serendia or Everfrost to obtain. Press O key then Main tab.

Normal Skill: Loot (4 sec, based on Tier 1, Lv. 10.)
Talent: Decrease Death Penalty by +1% per tier
Special Skill: Finds resources

Free Pet: Kalis’ Delphe (Sky Hawk)

The next free pet is the Kalis’ Delphe, the equivalent of the Sky Hawk in the Pearl Shop. This pet is beneficial for obtaining Knowledge, Higher-Grade Knowledge, and detecting rare mobs.

Finish the main questline in Calpheon or Everfrost to obtain. Press O key then Main tab.

Kalis’ Delphe

Normal Skill: Loot (4 sec, based on Tier 1, Lv. 10.)
Talent: Chance to Gain Higher-Grade Knowledge +1% per tier and Knowledge Gain +5% per tier.
Special Skill: Find Rare Monsters
Pet Type: Premium

Free Pet: Bareed’s Junaid (Junaid Cat)

The next free pet is obtained after completing the Mediah main story line. Bareed’s Cat is the same as Junaid Cat in the Pearl Shop.

This free cat pet is able to detect resources like tree/herb/ore nodes. It also gives a boost to Life Skill Exp. +1% to +4% at Tier 4.

Exchange Garmoth’s Horn via a quest to Gerson in Duvencrune (Gerson is near Trade Manager, Tikara)

Pet Type: Special and it can’t be exchanged with Wizard Gosphy. Can only have 1 Dragon summoned at once.

Young Crimson Dragon is sellable on the market and can also be obtained via a rare drop from Garmoth.

5000 Hour Challenge Reward (Y)

After you have stayed logged in for 5,000 hours, you can choose between a cat or a dog pet. They can be exchanged (bred) with any Classic Pet type.

Book 6 Reward: Desert Fox Pet

Deve’s Encyclopedia is part of the Adventure Log series, in which you have to complete books by showing Deve a collection of items. This pet will probably take some time for most players to acquire, as it is toward the end of the series.

Kuku is also given out via Login Rewards and special events.

Talent: Knowledge +5-20% and Higher-grade Knowledge Gain Chance Increase +1-4%

NOTE: You cannot take out more than one Kuku at the same time. However, you can exchange them to obtain a higher tier. Kuku pet can only be exchanged with itself or other Event type pets possibly in the future.

Mole pet is obtained via the Farming Life Skill.

When a giant mole spawns, look for Pit-A-Pat-Mole! After he runs from you, he drops a special petal. Turn in 10 petals for a mole pet.
