BDO daily sailing quests help those looking to level their Sailing Life Skill. They are also a good resource for materials to upgrade ships and ship gear.
Since patch Sep 20, 2023, sailies are broken up into 4 main areas:
- Iliya Island Sailing Quests → 6 barter quests and 1 timed sailing quest
- Oquilla’s Eye Sailing Quests → sea monster and gathering life skill
- Velia Sailing Quests → 2 timed, sea monster, barter
- Port Epheria Sailing Quests → sea monster

Sailing Dailies on the Mainland, Iliya, & Oquilla
The Daily Sailing quests below are repeatable each day. Many of the quests require Sailing Beginner 3. Rovinia’s daily sailing quest requires the main sailing quest line, including “Jarette’s Support” which rewards the Bartali Sailboat and Sailor’s Oath.
- The sea monster quests require you or a friend to have a ship with cannons. (Easiest to obtain is Bartali Sailboat, but for sea monster hunting, you will want at least an Improved Epheria ship.)
- NOTE: you must be level 50 to shoot a cannon!
- These repeatable Sailing quests reset every day at midnight (server time).

An Important Sailing Quest
Don’t forget to pick up the sailing daily located on Iliya Island, called [Barter] [Daily] Sailing to a Wider World.
This quest rewards sailing exp, but is of even greater benefit because it gives enough parts for obtaining an explorer’s compass every three days. Ancient Explorer’s Compass lasts for 3 days, so you will always be able to use your world map to navigate in the Great Ocean.
Quest Objective: Barter 20 times
Quest Rewards:
1 – Lost Trade Box 20 – Crow Coin
1 – Part for Explorer’s Compass

Daily Sailing Quests on Oquilla’s Eye
There are many Sailing quests by the Ross sea. They are located on an island called Oquilla’s Eye, north of Lema Island.
These Sailing quests are good for Sailing Exp, as well as obtaining ship and ship part upgrade materials.
The quests on Oquilla’s Eye are primarily sea monster quests, but there are also a few Life Skill ones.
Oquilla’s Eye Location Map
Oquilla’s Eye is an island near Ross Sea, north of Lema Island, which is north of Velia.
Main Sailing Quest Line
You no longer have to complete the main Sailing quest line to open up the Oquilla’s Eye quests. (Since patch 2-24-23)
It’s a good quest line to do anyway because it has other goodies like a Sailor, sailor slots, Cog Ship, and Bartali Sailboat.

Daily Sailing Quests from Ravikel
Choose Your Difficulty:
Determine the difficulty of the sea monsters you would like to hunt.
You have to choose between killing 5 easier young sea monsters or 1 adult sea monster.
You CANNOT do both of the same type of sea monter. Ex. 5 Young Nineshark + 1 Nineshark.
The adult sea monster quests give Crow Coins and Black Stones instead of Carrack materials.

Sailing Quests from Curio
Curio <Head of the Otter Merchants Union>
Located on the southern part of the island.
There is Dead Coral all over the beach, south of Curio that will provide Coral Pieces. For the other quest, Spotted Coral and Trumpet Coral are found in the waters off the coast. See images and details below.
His quests give sailing exp via Oquilla Coins only. One gives Gathering Exp. But they do provide ship mats.

Spotted Coral Image & Location for Iridescent Coral Piece
Spotted Coral, shown in the image below, is a large round coral that’s has green and purple circles on it. It gives Iridescent Coral Piece, used in Curio’s daily quest “[Daily] For the Young Otter Merchants”.
The gather point of Spotted Coral can be a bit tricky to find. Try coming at it from the top down, instead of the sides.
The image here shows one Spotted Coral location that is at the southern coast of Oquilla’s Eye. (You can also see one Trumpet Coral nearby.)
Trumpet Coral Image & Location
Trumpet Coral, shown in the image below, is a tall coral that is colored sea green. It gives Iridescent Coral Piece, used in Curio’s daily quest “[Daily] For the Young Otter Merchants”.
The gather bubble of Trumpet Coral is easy to find from the side.

Bave Ricksa is located inside the safe zone of Oquilla’s Eye.

Exchange Oquilla Coins to Herrad Romsen
Requirement: 50 – Oquilla Coin
When you have done 50 Sailing Dailies from Oquilla, you can exchange the reward coins to Herrad.
Each exchange costs the same, but gives different rewards.

Daily Sailing Quest from Rovinia
Rovinia <Trade Goods Exchange> is located by the Wharf Manager in Velia.
- To accept her quest, you must have completed ‘[The Great Expedition] Jarette’s Support’. (Get this quest after completing the main sailing questline up to [The Great Expedition] Letter from a Dear One” from the Suggested (O) – [The Great Expedition] questline.)
- Delivering the supplies within the time limit will award you with some Sailing EXP and Crow Coins.
