A full Naru Gear set fills armor, weapon, and accessory slots: 10 different gear pieces in total. (Awakening weapon is only available to certain classes that begin with Awakening like Scholar and Archer.)

Naru Gear is the first gear set given to new players from the main quest line. It is easy to enhance and obtain.

The greatest benefit to Naru Armor and Weapons is you can exchange them for PRI Tuvala Gear on a Season Character. Or you can exchange them for Narchillan Gear on a normal character.

Obtaining Naru Gear & Accessories

  • Complete any of the following Main Quest Lines:
    • Beginner Main Questlines: Serendia, Balenos, and Calpheon.
    • Main Questlines for Veteran Players:
      • Mountain of Eternal Winter – [Everfrost] 
      • Land of the Morning Light – [Loml]
      • Simplified main questline – [Special Growth] Fughar’s Memorandum Chapters
  • Automatically obtained kill quests for entering beginner grinding spots
  • Exchange for Beginner Black Stones with Fughar.
    • Armor and weapons require finishing the Serendia main quest line. (or an equivalent questline in LoML or Everfrost.)
    • Accessories require the Calpheon main quest “Looking for Adventurers”, which is at the very end of the Calpheon quest line. (or an equivalent questline in LoML or Everfrost.)

 

Obtaining Naru Gear via Fughar Exchange

You can exchange Beginner Black Stones to Fughar for any Naru Gear.

Fughar is usually located next to Stable Keepers in cities.

Naru Gear Enhancement

  • Naru Gear is cheaper and easier to enhance than normal gear.
    • Very high Enhancement Chance success rates (PEN enhancement chance is 35% for weapons/armor)
    • Only loose 2 Max Durability on enhancement failure.
    • Cron Stone cost is much less (3 Crons protects TET from downgrading on enhancement failure.)
  • Naru Gear requires Beginner Black Stones to enhance.
  • Naru armor and weapons can be enhanced to PEN.
  • Naru accessories can be enhanced to TRI.

Naru Enhancement Chances (Failstacks)

Naru gear is easy to enhance. You can just keep clicking and don’t have to worry much about increasing Enhancement Chance or building a Failstack.

However, sometimes BDO can be against you and you repeatedly fail enhancement on a weapon or armor piece.

If a Naru Gear proves unusually stubborn and you are running out of Beginner Black Stones, use a few Cron Stones to protect TET or PEN from downgrading.

How to Obtain Beginner Black Stones

Beginner Black Stones are very easy to obtain with any low level character. Follow the main quest line, which will give you more than enough. The main quest line is always your friend as a beginner character!

  • Press O key then Main tab to view your progress and Beginner Black Stone rewards.
  • After you complete the main quest line for Mediah, you will have more than enough to fully enhance all of your Naru weapons and armor.

Processing (L) → Heating can be performed on normal Black Stones to create Beginner Black Stones.

Only do this if you are feeling very impatient. It’s expensive and you will get all you need for free from the main questline if you are patient.

Lets look at how beneficial a fully enhanced Naru accessory set is.

Remember that Naru Accessories can only be enhanced to TRI.

Note also that accessories are also quite costly in Beginner Black Stones. (5x the cost of a Naru armor or weapon piece.)

For this reason, please save the enhancement of these for last. It’s also important to note they are NOT converted to Tuvala, and must be vendored when you no longer need.

Major Update: Serendia and Calpheon Main Quest Reward Revamp, Including New “Naru” Gear

  • Added new “Naru” gear.
    • You can get this new gear instead of certain gear that was given out as rewards for completing main quests in Serendia and Calpheon.
    • Naru gear was designed for adventuring in Serendia, Calpheon, and Mediah. As you complete the main quests in these regions, you will be able to get the new Beginner Black Stones needed for enhancing this new gear.
      • You cannot receive Beginner Black Stones in retrospect for main quests already finished.
    • Because Naru gear was made for adventurers who are just starting out on their adventures, we have made them easier to enhance, with an even higher chance for success compared to Tuvala gear. You also need less Cron Stones for safe enhancement. In fact, you’ll only need 3 for trying to enhance from TET to PEN! Therefore, be sure to give enhancing them a go!
    • Season characters can go to Fughar the Crow Merchants Guild Chief Manager after completing the Mediah main quests to trade in your PEN Naru gear for PRI Tuvala gear, which should serve you better as you journey onward to new horizons.
    • You can only enhance Naru accessories (i.e. earring, necklace, belt, and ring) to TRI level.
  • Added PRI “Tuvala” awakening weapons as rewards for completing Awakening/Talent/Ascension quests.
    • Canon awakening weapons will still be given out as well, for completing the quests.
      • Season characters cannot equip Canon awakening weapons.
    • Although non-season characters cannot open the box containing the PRI Tuvala awakening weapon, they can still sell it to an NPC vendor.
  • You can now use Heating in the Processing window (L) on certain items to get Beginner Black Stones.
