Ator’s Shoes are red grade and best in slot, with superior defense stats, achieving the highest Damage Reduction or optionally, Evasion.
Choose DR or Evasion:
- Ator’s Shoes comes in two versions: superior damage reduction or superior evasion.
- You can swap one version for another via a quest and some mats.
- Swap Cost: Scorching Sun Shard x200 or Crystalized Despair x50.
The DR version is similar to PEN: Blackstar Shoes, but can be enhanced 5 times to surpass it.
Ator’s Shoes Quest Requirements:
- 1 rare loot drop from 310 AP grinding spots in Ulukita.
- 1 PEN level boss shoes
- Exchange quest in Ulukita.
- Level 56+ character.
NOTE: You can buy Ator’s Shoes or related materials on the Marketplace for silver.
Ator’s Shoes has also been called “Fallen God Shoes” and “Slumbering Origin Shoes.”
Ator’s Shoes arrived along with Ulukita’s main quest on November 29, 2023. (However, Ulukita main quest isn’t required to obtain Ator’s Shoes.)
Ator’s Shoes is part of the Slumbering Origin Armor Set, which gives added set effects if two or more pieces are worn.

Lets add the “hidden” stats together and then sum DR + Evasion to get a total DP. Now it’s easy to see Ator’s Shoes the clear winner in both Evasion and Damage Reduction.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
- Monster Damage Reduction and Monster AP is very important, but NOT included in the totals.
- Monster DR and AP help during PVE, but not in PVP.
- Both red grade shoes have superior PVE stats when Monster Buffs are added.
- MDR gives an Item Effect of +10 Monster Damage Reduction and a possible 2 Set Effect: +10 Monster Damage Reduction.

Ator’s Shoes Quests
Ator’s Shoes is obtained via a level 56+ exchange quest that requires 1 rare boss shoes and 1 rare drop.
Ator’s Shoes does NOT require the Ulukita main quest line.
You can complete the Ator’s Shoes crafting quests once per day.
Exchange Ator’s Shoes for a Different Type
You can exchange a DR version of Ator’s Shoes for the Evasion version and vice versa.
Exchange Quest Requirements:
- Hand over 1 type of Ator’s Shoes.
- Hand over Crystalized Despair x50. (rare drop in Elvia Calpheon.)
- OR… Hand over Scorching Sun Shard x200 obtained in Elvia Calpheon.
- Rare Drop from monster zones.
- Daily or weekly kill quests.
- Once per family quest.

* Your current family name will override any previous family name on the old Ator’s Shoes.

You need 1 Flame of Resonance to obtain a Ator’s Shoes.
Embers of Resonance
- Embers of Resonance drops from mobs inside Darkseeker’s Retreat and Yzrahid Highlands. Both are 310 AP | 420 DP monster zones.
- Optional: purchase Flame of Resonance and Embers of Resonance on the market.
Darkseeker’s Retreat Location in Ulukita
Ulukita is located south of Mediah territory on the world map.
Cross a bridge west of Splashing Point to reach Ulukita.
Darkseeker’s Retreat is located NE of Muzgar city.

Darkseeker’s Retreat Grinding Spot
Darkseeker’s Retreat is an end game grinding spot with challenging mechanics.
- Recommended AP: 310
- Recommended DP: 420
Blazing Embers can spawn after killing Darkseekers.
- Blazing Embers give a guaranteed Embers of Resonance drop.
- Sealed Artifact will activate after killing Blazing Embers.
- For 5 minutes Sealed Artifact will disorientate your enemies at certain intervals.
- Followers will not be affected by the Sealed Relic.

Eternal Darkseeker event has a chance to spawn while killing mobs.
- Many Followers will spawn and attack you after killing the Eternal Darkseeker.
- Followers have reduced HP compared to their counterparts.
Darkseeker’s Retreat Loot
One major benefit to hunting at Darkseeker’s Retreat is the rare drop, Kabua’s Artifact.
Ator’s Shoes Enhancement
Ator’s Shoes looks like a challenge to enhance, with the initial enhancement chance being 2%.
Ator’s Shoes starts out with similar stats as PEN: Blackstar Shoes, but can be upgraded 5 more times.
- Each Enhancement Chance uses
Flawless Chaotic Black Stone x 1 - Enhancement Failure costs 30 Max Durability and lowers the enhancement level by one.
- Cron Stones can be used to protect from downgrading (cost starting at 1500 Crons)
- No safe enhancement available (Caphras levels or Force-Enhance)
