Caphras Record: Crow Merchants Adventure Log

BDO Caphras’ Record is part of the “Crow Merchants’ Records” within the “Adventure Log Bookshelf”. It became part of the Adventure Log on Oct 7, 2020. Caphras Record Journal consists of 4 volumes (books) that require you to complete chapters (goals) in exchange for Caphras Stones and a special tome.

Caphras Journal Rewards:

• Caphras Tomes: Completing all 4 books rewards you with 1 of 3 tomes.

  • Contribution Exp +20%
  • Life Skill Exp +10%
• 300 total Caphras Stones: from completing all 4 books within Caphras Journal.

Caphras Record Requirements:

• Lv. 55+
• Black Spirit quest “[Adventure Log] Crow Merchants’ Records”
• View Caphras Journal Menu: press Esc → Adventure → Adventure Log Bookshelf → Crow Merchants’ Records → Caphras’ Record – Volumes 1 to 4

Caphras’ Record Adventure Log Basics:

• Completing one Book, opens up the next Book in the series.
• Merchants’ Records Book 3 is first, then 4, 2, and 5 →
  • Book 3 (Volume 2) →  complete 1st
  • Book 4: (Volume 3) →  complete 2nd
  • Book 2 (Volume 1) →  complete 3rd
  • Book 5: (Volume 4) →  complete 4th
• When an Adventure Log’s Goal (quest) is completed, it will receive a sparkly highlight. Click it to receive your reward.
• A completion stamp will cover the reward, if you have already received it.
• Goals can be completed in any order within a Book. (a few require consecutive: noted below)

To begin Caphras Record, go to Quests (O) → Suggested.

Before you begin, consider gathering some helpful items.

• Crystals, Lightstones, etc, to buff:
  • Underwater Breathing (Magic Crystal of Infinity – Submergence)
  • Jump Height
  • Movement Speed
  • Fall Damage
  • HP Recovery
• Traveler’s Map or similar (Also use Emergency Escape to travel out of water back to land.)
• Great Desert Gear:
  • Star Anise Tea and Purified Water for Desert Sickness
  • Compass or similar for Great Desert travel.
  • Dine, camel, etc

Volume 2.1 | A Step to a New World

Requirement:

• Go to the place where Caphras arrived first when he came to this world.

Reward:

• 10x Caphras Stones

Volume 2.2 | Spreading Nightmare

Requirement:

• Hunt ferocious beasts in Navarn Steppe

Reward:

• 10x Caphras Stones

Goal Tips: Kill 150 Feather Wolves. They are located inside Navarn Steppe, Kamasylvia. You do NOT need the <Wild> ones that you hunt with a matchlock.

Volume 2.3 | Rising Black Sun

Requirement:

• Talk to the Trade Manager of Tarif.

Reward:

• 10x Caphras Stones

Volume 2.4 | In the Flood of Knowledge

Requirement:

• Obtain all knowledge in Valencia City Expedition Log Category.
• Obtain all knowledge in Valencia (Great Desert) category.

Reward:

• 10x Caphras Stones

Knowledge: Valencia (Great Desert)

This knowledge category is fairly easy, but there is some travel that will take time. It’s mainly traveling to different NPCs, mostly Node Managers.

The table below gives the closest city and node to each NPC.

As a bonus, you get a 3 Max Energy reward.

Knowledge: Valencia City Expedition Log

Complete all of Knowledge, “Valencia City Expedition Log.”

A few of these knowledges are obtained via completing the Valencia main quest line. The rest are seperate quest lines and dialog.

As a bonus, you get a 1 Max Energy reward.

Volume 2.5 | Unjust Imprisonment

Requirement:

• Execute the beasts in the jail.

Reward:

• 10x Caphras Stones

Goal Tips:

• kill 1,000 monsters in Pila Ku Jail

Volume 3.1 | Regained Freedom

Requirement:

• Show the manager of the ruins Darkseekers’ ring.

Reward:

• 10x Caphras Stones

Goal Tips:

• Hunt mobs in Cadry Ruins until you obtain a Ring of the Cadry Guardian. The elite mobs have a higher drop chance.

Requirement:

• Follow his trace in Velia.

Volume 3.3 | Clash of Greeds

Requirement:

• Learn about Cron Castle Gold Coin.
• Learn about Fall of Cron Castle.
• Learn about the Cron Castle’s Altar.

Reward:

• 10x Caphras Stones

Volume 3.4 | Into the Cold Sea

Requirement:

• Locate where Caphras was once sunk in.

Reward:

• 10x Caphras Stones

Goal Tips:

• Dive underwater to find “Caphras Memory” on the sea floor, west of Cron Castle, which is north of Velia. Look for a pink clam with a glowing object next to it.

Volume 1.1 | Inescapable Fate

Requirement:

• Find the Luthraghon wandering in a corrupt place.

Reward:

• 10x Caphras Stones

Goal Tips:

• Helpful Items: Firefly, Star Anise Tea, Purified Water, Compass
• Chat with an NPC named Luthraghon, east of Muiquinn’s Stable Keeper, in SE section of the Great Desert, Valencia.
• Luthraghon is located in the east side of Muiquinn, up the stairs after passing the Stable Keeper. Turn right at some tall pillars with red ribbons at the top of the stairs into a dark cave.
• Run straight past the hostile citizens.
• You will not be able to interact with the Muiquinn NPC’s unless you have negative Karma.

Volume 1.2 | Hope that Cannot be Lost

Requirement:

• Break the seal of the Ancient Magic Tome in Tarif.

Reward:

• 10x Caphras Stones

Goal Tips:

• Skip forward to Chapter 1.3, in order to obtain Ancient Magic Tome to complete this chapter. (details below)
• Make sure you are NOT in a party
• Travel to Tariff, in western Mediah

Volume 1.3 | A Dream Burnt to Ash

Requirement:

• Get the Ancient Magic Tome from Kiyak of Valencia

Reward:

• 20x Caphras Stones

Goal Tips:

• Accept the quest called “[Adventure Log] Wager for the Magic Tome.”
• Chat with him again. Each time you select an answer, it will cost you 50 Energy each.
• Chat Answers that worked for me, but seem to be RNG according to reports.  (150 total Energy):

Volume 1.4 | A Sunset Eve

Goal Text:

• Complete all Knowledge in the Shadow of O’dylitta category

Reward:

• 20x Caphras Stones

Goal Tips:

• Knowledge (H) > Character > People of O’dyllita > Shadow of Odyllita
• most of these are obtained via Chat with the NPC.

Volume 1.5 | Entering Into Darkness

Goal Text:

• Go back to where Caphras first arrived in the world

Reward:

• 20x Caphras Stones

Goal Tips:

• Go back inside the Kamasylve tree in Grana and interact with a glowing red light called “Dark Shadow”

Volume 4.1 | Turning Your Back on God

Goal Text:

• Find a present for the daughter

Reward:

• 20x Caphras Stones

Goal Tips:

• Interact with a glowing light called “Caphras Memory” located on Iliya Island.
• It’s inside the walled back yard of the building behind Barabara <Work Supervisor>
• You will get itemRusted Hairband. Keep this for Chapter 4.2

Volume 4.2 | The Path to Destruction Begun

Goal Text:

• Give the present to the daughter of Caphras

Reward:

• 20x Caphras Stones

Goal Tips:

• Take the item you obtained from chapter 4.1 Rusted Hairband to Orwen, located just outside the entrance to Serendia Shrine dungeon, where Kzarka spawns.
• Serendia Shrine is SE of Glish and south of Heidel.

Volume 4.3 | Death-stained Earth

Goal Text:

• Go to Caphras’ Laboratory

Reward:

• 20x Caphras Stones

Goal Tips:

• Go to Caphras Cave node in northern Calpheon territory. (West of Florin)
• Find the secret cave hidden behind a fake wall inside
  • Take the path going downward into cave.
  • Follow the right wall down inside the cave.
  • Look for a dark stone wall called “Ancient Ruins Stone Gate” that you can destroy to access the lab.

Volume 4.4 | The Risen Black Sun

Goal Text:

• Destroy the Cadry Group
• Aquire the Knowledge of the black figure made by the Cadries

Reward:

• 20x Caphras Stones

Goal Tips:

• Kill 1,500 Cadry mobs.
• Obtain Cadry Summoning Stone knowledge.
• There are two of them that look like giant black orbs that spawn inside Cadry Ruins, which is NE of Altinova in Valencia.
• bdocodex.com shows a knowledge gain chance of only 2.50%. You may have to grind them for a while!

Volume 4.5 | The End of Destruction

Goal Text:

• Console the soul at the highest point of Valencia City

Reward:

• 20x Caphras Stones

Goal Tips:

• go to the gardens west of the royal palace of Valencia City.
• Look for the object “Caphras Memory” located on the wall.

Volume 4.6 | Into the Abyss

Goal Text:

• Speak with the Ahib guarding the Altar of Blood

Reward:

• 20x Caphras Stones

Goal Tips:

• O’Arma is SE of Star’s End. (thanks bdolytics.com for the map)
• You can get there from the Star’s End side of the mountains, up many stairways into the mountains, and through ruins.
• Go to the square white object on the World Map.
