BDO Sailing Exp items help us to earn experience in leveling the Sailing Life Skill. Sailing Life skill level is important for two major reasons: ship skills and sailing buffs.

Sailing Level Benefits:

  • BreezySail – one of the most desired ship skills requires Skilled 1 Sailing. BreezySail helps speed up slow travel across salty waters. You are able to use a new ship skill, each time you gain a Sailing level.
  • Sailing Mastery – Sailing levels add to the total that is calculated for Sailing Mastery. Sailing Mastery gives a boost to your ship’s Manuverability. (Increases Speed, Accel, Turn, and Break)

Sailing level is viewed by pressing P > “Life Skill” tab.

Sailing Mastery is under “Learn More” button or “Life Skill” tab.

Leveling the Sailing Life Skill is a challenge, but is improved with Sailing gear and quests.

Leveling the Sailing Life Skill

    • Hunting in Goldmont Pirate Territory – defeating [Outlaw of the Vadabin Sea], [Main Fleet], and normal Goldmont Small, Medium, and Large Battleships.
    • Sailing Quests
      • Sailing Dailies – the majority of your Sailing Levels will come from these.
      • Ravinia’s Quest Line – the letter line of quests gives a large amount of Sailing Exp over 7 days.

    • You gain Sailing Exp while sailing in Great Ocean and in smaller amounts near the main land.

    1 “Forest Crystal” is used to obtain 1 Life Skill crystal that buffs +5% Life EXP or +10 Life Mastery.

    Obtaining Forest Crystal:

    • Sniper hunting in Land of the Morning Light – about 1 every 1.5 hours.
    • Send worker to Dokkebi Forest node – 1 every 2 to 3 weeks.
    • AFK Fishing in Land of the Morning Light – 1 every week.
    • Special Barter – is this real? Not in my experience, but I have proof it exists.
    • Exchange 1000 Sangpyeong Coin to Hyunyong in Moodle Village.

    100 Magical Lightstone Crystal is also required for each Life Skill Crystal exchange quest.

     

    Obtaining Magical Lightstone Crystal:

    • Exchange Imperfect Lightstones or Lightstones you no longer need for Magical Lightstone Crystals.

    You can get up to 50% more Sailing Exp from wearing PEN Silver Embroidedered Sailor’s Clothes along with a converted Professional Sailor’s Clothes. This would be very costly to make, however, and would also require Pearls. Below, is a more easily obtainable +2 Enhancement.

    Pets do not have a chance to learn Sailing Exp +5%.

    However many offer Talents that give Life Exp +1% per tier. (For example, most cats do.)

    Bos’n Jak is an unusual pet that you may be interested in, if you like to Barter. As a bonus, he has a 48% chance to learn +5% Hunting EXP.
