BDO Grinding Spots: Money, Loot, & Exp Interactive Table

This BDO Grinding Spot Guide takes a look at the many monster zones in Black Desert, in which you can level and make money. Lets use a table to sort Grinding Spots by Traits, Level, AP, DP, Silver per hour, Skill, and Experience.

Grinding Spot Highlights:

Grinding Spot money and experience are influenced by so many factors, so take this guide with a big grain of salt! Read more about Money and Exp influences below.

Grinding Spot Combat Exp

Combat Exp can be greatly improved via Combat EXP items like scrolls, foods, and elixirs.

Monster Zone AP Cap Explained

Monster zone AP Cap is experienced when you reach high levels of AP in certain monster zones. It feels like your additional AP stacking efforts have had no effect to help you kill mobs faster.

Monster Zone AP Caps require a bit of explanation and math to understand.

• Rec AP: Recommended AP is the “Optimal AP” visible in the world map and monster zone UI. This is the AP you compare with the AP listed in your Inventory. Optimal AP ignores the hidden AP of your character. (This is why it may seem low compared to AP that adds hidden AP like the Min/Max AP categories below.)

Hidden Character AP

Hidden character AP is not so obvious at first. Find it by viewing your Inventory (I) → My Stats.

The Min AP and Max AP in the monster zone chart above reflect hidden AP values added together.

All Hidden AP Added:

= Total Succession or Awakening AP + Monster AP

Lonely Hidden Monster AP 🙁

The image shows your character’s hidden monster AP.

It’s hidden because it’s difficult to find!

It’s lonely because it’s not added to the Total AP column on the upper right side.

Add this monster AP to the total Succession or Awakening AP to get a number you can use to compare with the monster zone chart above for Min AP and Max AP.

Succession or Awakening AP

You add the monster AP from “Extra AP Against Monsters” to the Total Succession or Awakening AP.

This AP number can be used to compare with the grinding spot chart’s Min and Max AP to find when a character’s AP has capped for that monster zone.

Monster Zone AP Caps Matter?

When you have reached an AP Cap for a particular grinding spot, you can start adding certain items that give “Extra Damage”.

• 1 Extra Damage = 0.85% AP

• Mob Type: Monster type determines which monster damage you can use for each zone. Species damage gives 85% of AP. So if you have reached the AP Cap of a monster zone, then you can start adding Extra Damage instead of AP.
  • For example, Extra Damage to Humans/Demihumans/Kamasylvians is found on crystals.

Confused Yet?

For new players, just focus on the Rec AP. AP Cap info is for veteran players who have fought many hours at man’s cave hideout and gotten loads of min and max AP. 😛

Private Grinding Spots

With the May 25 2022 patch, a select group of grinding spots now have a private option called “Marni’s Realm.”

You can play solo at your favorite grinding spot without the need for DFS or PVP.

You cannot be inside Marni’s Realm for more than 11 hours per day.

The time limit in Marni’s Realm recharges while you are online outside of Marni’s Realm (up to 1 hour and 5 minutes).

• Black Spirit’s Rage: Max Black Spirit’s Rage +10%
• Max HP: +75
• Max Stamina: +50
• Accuracy
  • Melee Accuracy +8
  • Ranged Accuracy +8
  • Magic Accuracy +8
• All DR/Eva:
  • All Damage Reduction +3
  • All Evasion +6
• Monster AP/DR:
  • Monster AP +6
  • Monster Damage Reduction +9

Agris Fever:
Agris Fever gives an item drop buff that can be obtained by completing the Margahan Adventure Log. Book 1 gives 100% more junk loot. Book 2 gives 150%. For more details, please visit the Agris Fever Guide.

One important thing you should know about Agris, is it’s used up when it is turned on, no matter if your pets pick up the loot or not.

Item Collection Scroll:
Another big influencer of money earned at grinding spots is the Item Collection Increase Gauge.

You can obtain Item Collection Scrolls by turning in 10 Dark Spirit’s Greed from completing Dark Rifts. You get 2 Greed per Dark Rift.

Knowledge:
You can earn Ecology Knowledge that gives an item drop buff of up to 20%. Ecology knowledge is usually obtained via normal hunting. If you would like to read how to boost your Knowlege gain chances, please read the Knowledge Guide.

Pets:
Silver per hour is highly impacted by pets. If you only have 1 pet, you can’t pick up all the loot, unless you stop and do it manually.

Value Pack & Taxes:
Be sure to have a Value Pack buff on, if you sell any of your loot on the market. This will give you 84.5% of everything sold instead of 65%. (Central Market puts a 35% tax on every item it sells for you.)

Sell the Kitchen Sink:
Money per hour shown assumes everything is sold at Central Market and putting value on items that you can’t or shouldn’t sell. One example of this is Spirit Dust, which can’t actually be sold, but does have great value because it’s used to create Caphras Stones. Ancient Spirit Dust is normally valued based upon Caphras Stone market prices. All Enhancement items have value, but most players probably hold onto these for Enhancement sessions.

Money Impacted by Everything but the Kitchen Sink:
Your AP, DP, Class, Level, buffs, PVP interactions, travel time, Weight Limit, Inventory, NPC and tent access, Maid count, Party size… whew! All have an impact on how good a grinding spot is.

RNG my RNG:
Oh RNG can be a fickle thing! If you have a bad hour, don’t give up! Little elves keep track of your bad luck and sprinkle hope dust over you for the next hour. It’s true!
